Limnanthes alba, White Meadowfoam
Limnanthes alba
We've been unable to supply this species for some years and are excited to have a source again. An early spring blooming white flowered annual from the central valley, northern California, and Oregon that is beautiful, vigorous, adaptable, and economically valuable for its uniquely stable oil. Pure white blossoms with downy grey-green leaves usually under 1' tall and equally wide are sought after by bees and other pollinators, while the oil made from the seed is used in the cosmetic trade. It is found near, but does not require, vernal ponds and seeps.
