Aquilegia formosa
A popular and showy native perennial found in many different environments throughout California, usually where some moisture and shade is available. Red and yellow blossoms on flowering stalks 3' tall, blue-green rounded foliage,  to 1.5 tall, and a long flowering period, this perennial is eye-catching in the native garden. Blooms March through May. Attracts hummingbirds and bumblebees. Seeds take 4 to 6 weeks to germinate, less in a heated area. No pre-germination treatment is necessary. This species is available in limited quantities.
