Eriophyllum staechadifolium, Lizard Tail

Also known as seaside wooly sunflower. Silvery-gray finely-dissected foliage encrusted with gold in full bloom. Grows 1-2' tall. Gorgeous in the wet coastal scrub with California sagebrush, bush lupine, and coyote bush. Carries that chaparral scent.
