Clarkia purpurea, Purple Clarkia

Elegant spring and summer blooming wildflower with slender stem to 3' tall. Vibrant lavender-pink or magenta blossoms, sometimes with a darker color blotch in the center or tip of each petal. Enjoyed by a variety of moths and pollinators, and does well in direct sowing. Likes full sun and drier soil. Requires little attention once established, and reseeds readily each year.
