Ceanothus thyrsiflorus, Wild Lilac

This beautiful evergreen shrub has extraordinary fragrant blue blossoms in spring and fine textured rich green leaves, which are also fragrant. It is a fast growing large shrub or small tree 15' to 25' tall.

Deer may munch it when it is small, so protect it for the first two or three years. Very drought-tolerant, it prefers good drainage and little or no summer water.
