Trifolium gracilentum, Pinpoint Clover
A charming and amazingly adaptable annual clover with pink petals with distinct dark purple markings, Pinpoint Clover is found in a wide variety of situations throughout the west. It blooms in spring and summer from the deserts of the southwest to the coastal valleys of north and central California and the Pacific Northwest. It thrives in gravel, loam, sandy soil, and serpentine. Habit can be either erect or prostrate, and it grows from 1-2’ tall. Likes full sun and thrives with drought or irrigation. Loved by butterflies and bees, it makes a colorful small addition to grasslands, chaparral or coastal scrub, oak woodlands, and the foothills. It is even found in Mexico, and thrives from sea level to 6,000 feet.
