Salvia leucophylla, Purple Flowering Sage
Salvia leucophylla
This showy, silver-leaved shrub grows to 4' tall and equally broad with pale purple flowers blooming in late spring and early summer. It is part of the central and southern chaparral flora of California but it also grows very well in northern California in full sun.
It spreads through underground rhizomes and is extremely drought-tolerant. The seeds drop readily in mid summer and are edible.
