Lupinus microcarpus, Chick Lupine

Ranging throughout most of our state, chick lupine is an annual wildflower that grows 1-2.5 ft. tall. Flowers are usually magenta to purple, but can also be white to yellow. It likes full sun and can flourish in all soil types. Chick Lupine will self sow but only has 2 seeds in its seed pod, a characteristic unique to this lupine. A member of the pea family, lupines will also add nitrogen to your soil.
