Collinsia heterophylla, Purple Chinese Houses

Lush white or rose, and purple blooms tiered on 1' to 3's talks enhance the edges of woodland gardens. It usually blooms from March to June. It makes a good re-seeding bulb cover with long bloom period. Can be sown in fall and again in early spring for fall bloom. It can take full sun on a north-facing slope and can handle some shade as well.

Chinese houses is especially attractive to native bees and sets better seed crops when they are present. In the flower border, it sets off the bloom of other wildflowers.
